Comprehensive Guidance on Emission Reductions for Priority and High-Emission Industrial Sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean
Financed by: United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Location: Latin America and the Caribbean.
Year: 2025.
Project description
The industrial sector is indispensable for the economic development of nations. Given its economic significance and environmental impact, it is fundamental that ministries of environment and competent authorities have access to technical tools that strengthen their capacity for regulation, oversight, and guidance of the productive sector.

Within this framework, we present the Comprehensive Guidance on Emission Reductions for Priority and High-Emission Industrial Sectors in LAC. This document was developed by the Clean Air Institute in collaboration with representatives from UNEP —acting as the Secretariat for the Intergovernmental Network on Atmospheric Pollution for LAC— as a key technical instrument of the Regional Action Plan on Air Quality 2022–2025.

The purpose of this guide is to provide an agile resource that compiles relevant technical and strategic information on priority industrial sectors across the LAC region. Its objective is to serve as a vital input for countries to strengthen their diagnostic, control, and monitoring tools for stationary sources, as well as to support the formulation of new regulations or the updating of existing ones.
