Within the framework of implementing the "Roadmap for the Integration of Air Pollution and Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs) Mitigation Actions in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago," developed in 2023, this project aims to support the update of Trinidad and Tobago's Air Pollution Rules and evaluate emissions reduction scenarios and associated health co-benefits. Specifically, the project will:

 

• Identify, compile, and analyze baseline information relevant to updating the Air Pollution Rules.

• Develop baseline and emission reduction scenarios using updated air quality standards and estimate health co-benefits for the period 2020-2030.

• Develop a portfolio of interventions to achieve the selected emission reduction scenario, including a monitoring and tracking program, and provide recommendations to key sectors.

 

Furthermore, it foresees the active involvement and participation of key stakeholders (government agencies, industry, public health experts, and others) under the coordination and support of the Clean Air Institute's staff.
